Fleming Watson Trophy.
1) The competition for the Fleming Watson Trophy shall be played on a league basis annually. Each club will play each other once, and in any one year a club will play four home matches and four away matches.
2) A team for each match shall consist of six players plus a reserve. With agreement between the clubs in any match the number of reserve matches can be increased. Reserve matches do not count towards the result.
3) The first 4 games are played on a scratch basis. The last two games are played on handicap basis, with a full handicap difference up to a maximum of 18 shots. Players play from the Yellow tee boxes and not medal tees (except in Girls games, see rule below)
4) Points format - 4 points for a home or away win, 2 points for a home or away draw.
5) The 4 scratch games may be played in any handicap order. The 2 handicap games should be played in ascending order of handicap.
6) Each club will complete a team list of players playing in a match and within 72 hours of a match the home club will submit a copy of the team list to the Secretary with details of the games and scores, signed by a representative of both clubs involved. The list should be submitted via the contact form on the website.
7) No caddies are allowed in this competition other than members of the same team whose matches are finished.
8) In the event of clubs being on the same number of points when the fixture list has been completed the club that has won the most matches will be declared the winner. If that does not separate the clubs, then the club with the highest number of individual games won will decide the outcome. If that is also tied, then the club with least number of individual games lost will be declared the winner.
Note - Matches are ties between two clubs. Games are ties between individuals.
9) In cases where a player is in membership of more than one club in the League, the player is only eligible to play for his home club in matches in the League.
10) A player is eligible to play for a club if he/she is classed as a Junior member of the club for which he/she is playing, subject to rule 9.
11) All matches on the fixture list must be completed by week 10. If a match has had to be postponed because of bad weather, it should be re-arranged as quickly as possible between the two club Junior Conveners (see additional rules and guidelines below). The League Secretary should be notified of this asap. In the case where a match is scheduled on the fixture list and a club decides to pull out of that match, then they forfeit the match with a score of 6-0. 

Millennium Trophy.
1) The teams for this competition will consist of up to three players under the age of 15 on the day of the competition, having a handicap of 14 and above.
2) The team with the best two net scores will win the Millenium Trophy. In the event of a tie the third net score will be considered and the team with the best three net scores will win.
3) Prizes will be awarded for the best individual net and scratch scores.
4) Players will play from the Gentleman’s box tee and not medal tees.
5) No adults are allowed to caddy in this competition.
6) In cases where a player is in membership of more than one club in the League the player is only eligible to play for his home club in this competition.

Presidents Cup
1) The competition will be played between the highest points scorer from each club during the season. In the event that a highest points player is not available on the date of the competition, the second highest points player from that club may play.
2) The competition is scratch event, and will be played from the TBA tees. The winner is the player with the best scratch score. 
3) Prizes will be awarded to the winner and runner-up.
4) The highest points player table may be viewed on the Scorecards tab of the Main Menu on the website.

Players Cup

Girls games.
The following applies when girls are playing in any competition:
1) Girls will play from the RED tees.
2) In a scratch game, the difference in CSS is applied (between yellow and red tees)
3) In a handicap game, the difference in CSS is applied (between yellow and red tees) and the full difference in handicaps up to a maximum of 18 shots is applied.

Distance Measuring Devices.
At the 2012 A.G.M it was decided that Distance Measuring Devices would be permitted in all competitions.

Additional rules and guidlines for running Trophy competitions.
1) The trophy competitions will be held between June and October each year.
2) The Millennium trophy is hosted on the Par 3 course at Whitecraigs Golf Club and the date is agreed at the AGM.
3) The Secretary will enter the competition dates onto the website.
4) The Secretary will send out a reminder to clubs to submit entries 4 weeks in advance of the competitions.
5) The host club or nominated organiser of each competition should send the results to the Secretary to be posted on the website.
6) Matches abandoned due to weather - If a match or game is abandoned or postponed due to bad weather the following rule is in force –
The home club should offer within 14 days, 3 dates on which the match could be played. The Junior Convenors should agree on 1 of these 3 dates.
If they cannot agree, the match is awarded to the Home club. If the match goes ahead on 1 of these 3 dates and is abandoned during the match then it is declared a draw.

OLD TROPHY RULES

Scott Ramsay Memorial Trophy.
1) Each team consists of three players having a handicap between 12 – 24.
2) The team with the best two net scores will win the Scott Ramsay Trophy.
3) In the event of a tie the third score will be taken into account.
4) Prizes will be awarded for the best individual net and scratch scores.
5) Players will play from the Gentlemen’s box tees and not the medal tees.
6) No adult caddies are allowed in this competition.
7) In cases where a player is in membership of more than one club in the League the player is only eligible to play for his home club in this competition.

David Tait Memorial Trophy.
1) This competition will be played as a Stableford Competition. The competition is based on a team of six players on a handicap basis with the highest total of four players counting.
2) In the event of a tie the fifth card and then the sixth card if necessary will be taken into account.
3) The competition will be limited to players who have taken part in the Fleming Watson League and consequently it is anticipated that the six lowest handicap golfers in each clubs Junior Section will make up the team.
4) Players will play from the Gentleman’s tee box and not medal tees.
5) No adults are allowed to caddy in this competition.

Finlay Morris Memorial Trophy.
This trophy is awarded to the best Stableford score from a player competing in the David Tait Memorial Trophy.

 

Bill Watson Trophy.
1) Clubs will be represented by the Junior Club Champion. In the event of the Club Champion not being available the Runner Up can act as a substitute.
2) The player with the best scratch score will win the Bill Watson Trophy.
3) Players will play from the medal tees.
4) No adult caddies are allowed in this competition.

 

Tom Kelly Trophy.
1) Clubs will be represented by the Junior Club Champion and runner up. Alternates are permitted.
2) The competition is a scratch four ball better ball strokeplay competition. The Junior Club Champion and his partner will form a team.
The team with the best scratch score will win the Tom Kelly trophy.
3) The competition will be held at the same venue and date as the Bill Watson trophy competition.
5) Players will play from medal tees.
6) No adult caddies are allowed in this competition.

Constitution of the League 

1)  The League shall be known as the Fleming Watson League and the main competition of the League will be a Junior golf competition between all nine golf clubs for the Fleming Watson Trophy.
The purpose of the League is the promotion of Junior Golf.
The nine clubs being Cathcart Castle, Cathkin Braes, Cowglen, East Renfrewshire, Fereneze, Haggs Castle, Pollok, Whitecraigs, Williamwood
2)  The Annual General Meeting of the League will be held in December each year.
3)  The Constitution can only be altered at the Annual General Meeting of the League and only if six of the nine clubs in membership of the League agree. Notice of any proposed changes to the Constitution must be sent to the Secretary in writing by 1st December in any year. The Secretary must give clubs at least 28 days notice of the Annual General Meeting and this to include any proposed changes to the Constitution and Notice of any Motions received from clubs for consideration of the meeting. A majority can alter the Competition Rules at the Annual General Meeting. Changes to the Competition Rules can be put forward by the Secretary, about which he will give due notice. Clubs in membership can put forward changes to the Competition Rules at the Annual General Meeting.
4)  The financial year will be from 1st January till 31st December.
5)  The business to be conducted at the Annual General Meeting shall be as follows.
a)  Minute of the last Meeting.
b)  Business arising.
c)  Apologies.
d)  Secretary’s Report.
e) Treasurer’s Report.
f)  Changes to the Constitution & Competition Rules.
g)  Notice of Motions received from clubs.
h)  Election of Office Bearers. a) President* & b) Secretary/Treasurer.
i)   Annual Subscription.
j)   Appointment of Auditor.
k)  Any other business.
*The President shall be appointed from within the clubs in the League to serve a term of up to three years.
Nominations for the position of President should be made in writing to the League Secretary not less than 14 days prior to the Annual General Meeting or Special General Meeting at which the appointment is to be considered.
Nominations should be sent from the Secretary of the nominating club.
6)  The League shall hold other competitions during the year & the rules of these competitions are detailed in the Competition Rules.
7)  Clubs in membership of the League wishing to have business raised at the Annual General Meeting of the League must indicate in writing to the Secretary by 1st December in any year what they are proposing so that this can be sent to all clubs at least twenty eight days before the Annual General Meeting so that each club can give proper consideration to them.
8)  On the written request of four clubs the Secretary shall call an Extraordinary Meeting of the League to consider outstanding matters that may have arising since the last Annual General Meeting. The Secretary will call the meeting giving 21 days notice. The decision/s made will stand until the next Annual General Meeting where a final decision must be made.
9)  Unless covered by the Constitution all voting shall be by a majority of those clubs voting on any matter. If a vote is tied the President may use a casting vote to decide the issue. The President shall have no deliberate vote. The Secretary shall have no vote.
